MLS explained: MLS (Multi Layer Steel) is used in high performance head gasket applications. They consist of multiple layers of steel uniquely designed and riveted together; outside the gasket surface for ease of installation; and provedes a high performance seal. MLS head gaskets eliminate the use of dowel pin o-rings. RCM explained: RCM (Rubber Coated Metal) gaskets consists of a.020" thick stainless spring steel base covered with a.001" thick heat resistant Viton rubber on both sidesand a silicone bead.
